A Blue Flag town beach in the centre, Kaputaş’s turquoise a few minutes away and miles of sand at Patara. Some coves can only be reached by boat.
Kalkan’s sea is deep, clear and in places cool from mountain springs. Because the shore is mostly rocky, swimming here works differently: you step straight into deep turquoise water from the wooden decks and stone platforms of the beach clubs around the bay. Most are reached by free water taxi from the harbour.
For sand there are two famous options: Kaputaş, reached by steps from the road, and Patara, miles long and a nesting beach for loggerhead turtles. In town there is a small public beach. Some coves can only be reached on a boat trip.

Prices are for the 2026 season and may change. Ancient-site prices are the Ministry of Culture and Tourism rates for foreign visitors; Turkish citizens pay a different rate and can use the Müze Kart.

Wooden gulets leave the yacht harbour in the morning; you swim in coves no road reaches, take a mud bath, eat a home-cooked lunch on board and come back late afternoon. The water is so clear you can see rocks metres below.
Family boat: daily trips from the marina to the bays with a mud bath, lunch and afternoon tea included. Private, sunset and BBQ tours too.
7-hour family boat trip from the yacht harbour: home-cooked Turkish lunch, swim stops, mud bath and Aquarium Bay.
Day trip about 10:30–17:00 with several swim stops including the mud bath, lunch on board.
The Serkan family’s boat: shared and private day trips from the yacht harbour with lunch and swim stops.
Captain Ali and Burcu’s boat: homemade meals on board, private hire available.
Private boat and gulet hire from Kaş/Kalkan to Kekova and the coast; Kastellorizo day trips.
Private boat run by Kalkan’s Tanç brothers: day trips 10:00–17:00 and sunset cruises 18:00–22:30.
In summer, book a day ahead. Bring a towel, sun cream and some cash.
